Lucky for us, Shareen Sarwar-Rubiera is an AMAZING vintage lover who resides in our neck of the woods, Miami Beach. Shareen (pictured on the left) is the founder of Vintage Mavens, an online specialty vintage shop and blog. When you visit her site, you"ll see Shareen modeling her favorite one-of-a-kind pieces while sharing her stories as an ever growing fashion stylist. A native New Yorker, Shareen has been a stylist for companies like Dolce & Gabbana and publications like Teen Vogue and Women"s Wear Daily. After her success in the fashion industry, Shareen has turned into a "fashion historian who likes to recycle." You can shop through her unique vintage collection via her Ebay Shop or become an avid reader of her fabulous blog! If you"re looking for garments that make a statement, then check out some of my highlights from Shareen"s vintage collection below:

TOP: This Vintage Black Sequined & Beaded Oversized Bow Blouse is currently sold out on her website. BUT, it exemplifies the type of ultra chic pieces you can find on Vintage Mavens. Shareen"s website has become an international sensation. Her latest giveaway, Chanel Nail Color, went to a winner from Australia! Make sure you check out her Facebook Fan Page for the latest on new inventory or giveaways.

Top Left: Vintage Leopard Draped Frock. Top Right: Vintage Sequined Rhinestone Cut Out Dress. I melted when I saw this dress! Most recently, Shareen was interviewed by The Miami New Times where she spoke about Miami"s distinctive style. "I"ve seen a lot of cities where people just want to blend in. Other cities take themselves very seriously, under all those layers. Here [Miami], it"s very like I"m going to get on my beach cruiser bike, put on some big sunglasses, and go to the beach" stated Shareen. This stylist knows about Miami"s sazon!

Top: Vintage Hand Embroidered Native American Jacket with Inca Red Puff Sleeves. This breathtaking jacket is currently available via Vintage Maven"s Ebay Shop.

Finally, my FAVORITE piece from Shareen"s collection: A Vintage Black Brocade Dress with Lace Trim. Classic elegance at its best! All of the inventory found on Vintage Maven"s Ebay Shop ranges between $20 to $125. For more information on Vintage Mavens or to see more looks, visit http://www.vintagemavens.blogspot.com/. To be truly inspired by fashion, one must never forget its history. Shop vintage and discover the beauty found in a timeless one-of-a-kind piece!

The real Wonder Woman on the street

Is this picture of Cindi giving you flashbacks of the 80"s? Awesome! If you were too young to purchase concert tickets back in the day, then here"s your chance to watch Cindi Lauper LIVE in Miami! I"m sure Cindi"s infamous song, "Girls just Want to Have Fun," is probably playing in your head right now. Make sure to save the date: Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010 at The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. Watch Cyndi Lauper as she performs songs from her album “Bring Ya To The Brink”. Lauper"s success in the mid-1980s began with the release of her first album “She’s So Unusual.” After touring the world, she became the first female singer to have four top-five singles released from one album. Over the course of her career, Lauper has released 11 albums and over 40 singles while selling more than 25 million records worldwide. That"s definitely impressive...girl power!!! Ticket prices for the concert start at $39.75. To purchase tickets online, visit www.arshtcenter.org. Who knows? Maybe Cindi"s friends will come out to watch her show in Miami (fingers crossed for a Lady Gaga cameo). It might happen if we start a Facebook group...

Disclaimer: Lady Gaga has not been confirmed to attend this concert. My previous statement (above this photo) was solely written out of wishful thinking. xo

Comedian Demetri Martin wrote a book called This is a Book and while many comedians attempt to translate their humor onto the printed page and fail, this one might actually work. All the Mitch Hedberg fans in the room might be saying, "Isn't that the guy who is basically ripping off Mitch's style?" Well...a bit. But he also has his own thing, using charts and graphs and crude sketches to accenuate his funny. That kind of visual humor is just the kind of thing that can fill up a book quite well. I for one am looking forward to laughing it up.

On Saturday, June 19th, Amigos for Kids hosted their highly anticipated annual fundraiser: ING Miami Celebrity Domino Night! Jungle Island was overflowing with Miami"s hottest celebrities, community leaders and domino players. Among the celebs, I ran into the lovely Mariana Rodriguez, Host of Telemundo"s Acceso Total, looking fabulous in a pink cocktail dress (pictured on the right). As far as the celebration, guests were treated to a tropical paradise as soon as they entered the courtyard! The night featured Samba & Salsa dancers, a live Cuban band and dinner-bites from restaurants like Sushi Maki, Giardino Gourmet Salads and Versailles. Since Bacardi USA was one of the official sponsors of this event, there were plenty of open bars for guests to enjoy as well. All proceeds from the evening benefited Amigos for Kids, a non-profit organization that supports South Florida"s abused, abandoned and neglected children and their families through education, abuse prevention and community involvement. To become an Amigo by donating your time or other resources to children in need, call 305.279.1155 or visit www.AmigosForKids.org.

Ximena Duque, Kothan Fernandez and Candela Ferro attended the event to support Amigos for Kids.

You cannot have a party in Miami without a little sazon!

Melissa Marty, Cynthia Olavarria and Martha Escobar strike a pose for Miami Beats & Sazon. Check out Melissa as she co-hosts Acceso Máximo, an entertainment show on Galavisión.

Top Left: Alina Mayo Azze, Univision television anchor, along with Jackie Nespral, anchor of South Florida Nightly News at 7:00 pm and South Florida Tonight at 11:00 pm on NBC 6. I would also like to add that Jackie Nespral is on my "Favorite University of Miami Alumni" list. GO CANES!!! Top Right: Alex and Marisela De La Vega.

An intense domino match in action...that"s all I can say!

Top Left: Marko Figueroa and Patricia De Leon. Top Right: Ana María Canseco, host of Despierta America on Univision, accompanied by Alfredo J. Gonzalez.

The gorgeous Brigitte Chio and Casey Garcia along with yours truly!

Overall, the event was a huge success: great music, amazing food, a silent auction, beautiful people, domino tables and a wonderful cause! Remember to visit Amigos for Kids for the latest news on the organization"s initiatives and programs. Become involved and see you at the next event!
