RECENT POST

In the early 90's Marvel Comics put out a series of comics set in 2099. Future versions of Spider-Man, Punisher, Dr. Doom and Hulk appeared in said comics. A brand new character created by Stan Lee himself joined the fray in 1992.

Maybe my expectations are too high for comics having read plenty of Alan Moore. Snappy retorts I'm cool with. Heroes yelling, "Stupid scrumballs!" not so much. The series is all over the place. Ravage turns uber quick from corporate yes man to ass-kicking, garbage wearing vigilante. Every issue a random element is added or changed: Now he wears a super eye patch! Now he shoots blasts from his hands! Now he doesn't. Now he has horns on his face.

No surprise the series didn't do well. No surprise it was used as filler in the comic grab bag that I recently purchased.

A funny, scathing review of Issue #1 at 365 Days of Comics
